Hello and welcome to MellFigg Inspirations LLC. My name is Melissa Figueroa. I am a work from home wife and mother of three. I am also a self-taught jewelry designer. I am owner and sole designer for my company in this small corner of the internet.

My jewelry crafting journey began five years ago when I found myself with a persistent urge to learn a new craft that I could possibly turn into a small business.

I've always been a creative with early interests lying in sketching, painting, crafting and photography. I remember as a child I would sit around and sketch pretty much anything I saw around my parents apartment.

Eventually my pastimes became my life's work. I graduated college in 2002 with a BA in studio art, minor in graphic design and a specialization in photography. It was in college that the dream of one day owning my own design studio was birthed. At the time I truly believed that graphic design was my destiny. Upon graduation I took a position working as a desktop publisher, essentially editorial design. During these years I started my family, married my best friend and devoted husband (who also happens to be my #1 fan) and realized that I was not made for corporate America.

It took me some time to recognize that my true passion was for design and photography. I wanted to create a product using my hands, incorporating my aptitude for design and where I could also integrate my photography.

In a nutshell this is how MellFigg Inspirations came to life. I create unique, one of a kind, quality crafted, affordable jewelry designs using mostly semi-precious and sometimes precious stones, gems, beads and metals. My designs are all inspired by the many facets of my life. Often times ideas just come to me. My motivation is individuality and personality. I truly believe we are all special, once-in-a-lifetime, unrepeatable and this is the message MellFigg Inspirations brings to life. Be individual, be true to yourself and let your voice be heard.
